Grenadine syrup is made by combining sugar, pomegranate juice and cherry juice to create a distinctive blood-red color and sweet flavor. The word grenadine is derived from the French word for Pomegranate (grenade). It is extremely potent and versatile; hundreds of cocktails call for a splash of grenadine.
